No. 21 Providence Stallions

2009 Record: 9-2

The Coach: Paul Petterson

The Players: Matt Santos (Sr., DB/RB), Jaleel Green (Soph., WR/DB), Cameron Davis (Sr., RB/WR), Jimmy Von Thron (Sr., DB), Bennett Blanton (Jr., K/P), Kory Williams (Jr., RB/DB), Isaiah Bruce (Sr., LB/RB), Jonathan Watt (Sr., LB), Christian Dicks (Jr., RB/WR), John Marshall (Sr., DB), Paul Axtell Jr. (Sr., OL/DL), Will Barefield II (Jr., DL)

The Word: Former Bolles assistant coach Paul Peterson has built a solid program at Providence, guiding the Stallions to a 17-4 record the last two years. This season shouldn’t be any different either as Petterson is loaded again with players like Green, Williams, Bruce and Dicks. The only hole Peterson needed to fill in the spring was finding a replacement for quarterback Kade Bell, who transferred to Fletcher after the season ended. The Stallions took NFC to the wire last season losing 14-7 in a game that settled the district runner-up spot. There is no reason to think the Stallions won’t be able to push both NFC and Trinity Christian again for a playoff spot.
