No. 36 Mandarin Christian Eagles

Mandarin Christian Eagles

2009 Record: 6-4

The Coach: Dennis Thompson

The Players: O’shay Carter (Soph., QB/DE), Tyrese Gamble (Sr., OL/DL), Travis Makausas (Sr.,, WR/DB), Vincent Stipper (Jr., OL/DL), Eric Durham (Sr., DB), Trey Tiechdon (Sr., WR), Colby Wilkens (Sr., DL), Jimmy Carter (Sr., DL), Drew Harden (Soph., LB)

The Word: Second year coach Dennis Thompson has the Eagles fifth year program heading in the right direction and confident he can compete with Hawthorne and Lafayette for a potential playoff spot. In his first season, Thompson guided the Eagles to their first winning season and a Big 10 Conference Divisional title. Thompson’s west coast spread offense must replace four year starter Josh Tylski, but won’t miss a beat with the addition of Arlington Country Day transfer two-year starter O’shay Carter. Carter is one of several ACD transfers including Gamble and Makausas, who averaged 40 yards a catch last season.
